GEORGIA — A woman was arrested Monday evening after leading law enforcement on a chase through Bryan County that caused major traffic delays.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the incident began around 4:52 p.m. when Richmond Hill Police requested assistance with a hit-and-run suspect on GA 144 near GA 25.
Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle by hitting its rear, and a felony stop was conducted. However, the suspect continued to ignore officers’ commands and reportedly threw items from the car.
When Richmond Hill Police attempted to remove the woman from the vehicle, she physically fought with officers and troopers before being taken into custody.
The chase and arrest forced the closure of GA 25 north for approximately two hours, creating significant traffic delays in Richmond Hill.
