ALABAMA — A 19-year-old man was arrested Saturday night after leading Priceville Police on a high-speed chase along Interstate 65.
Police said the incident began around 11 p.m. on Aug. 9 when officers spotted a silver pickup truck traveling at high speeds southbound on I-65.
The driver, identified as Jeremiah Hawke McLemore of Lester, refused to stop, prompting a pursuit.
According to investigators, McLemore drove recklessly through traffic, used the shoulder to pass other vehicles, narrowly avoided two crashes, and threw items from the truck.
Falkville Police deployed spike strips near the Thompson Road exit, disabling the vehicle. McLemore was taken into custody without further incident, and a child passenger was released to a guardian.
McLemore faces multiple charges, including felony attempting to elude law enforcement, DUI, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, possession of brass knuckles, and criminal littering. His bond was set at $7,200.
