MISSISSIPPI — A 44-year-old woman faces multiple charges after running a red light, leading police on a chase, and hiding in the woods, authorities said.
The Gulfport Police Department reported that Jennifer Parfait ran a red light on Cowan Road around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5. When an officer attempted to pull her over, she fled, prompting a pursuit.
The chase ended when Parfait reached a dead-end road and ran into a wooded area, where officers later apprehended her.
Police said Parfait was in possession of methamphetamine and had multiple felony warrants in Hancock, Pearl River, and Harrison counties. She has been charged with one count of felony fleeing and eluding and one count of possession of methamphetamine.
Parfait was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where a judge set her bond at $100,000.
