OHIO — A Friday night motorcycle pursuit in Bellefontaine ended with the arrest of a local man on charges of failure to comply with police.
According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, officers observed a motorcyclist, later identified as Austin Henry, 31, of Bellefontaine, revving the engine of a black sportbike at a red light on North Main Street and East Sandusky Avenue.
Police noted that Henry was not wearing proper eye protection.
When officers attempted to follow, Henry allegedly began weaving through heavy traffic and rapidly accelerating. The pursuit continued southbound on U.S. Route 68 before turning west onto Township Road 190, where speeds reached nearly 90 miles per hour, police said.
After traveling about half a mile, Henry pulled over and was taken into custody. Officers reported he was confrontational during the arrest.
Henry was booked into the Logan County Jail on a charge of failure to comply. No injuries were reported.
