ALABAMA — A Dothan man is in jail after police say they seized hundreds of grams of fentanyl and large quantities of marijuana during a traffic stop and home search.
According to Dothan Police, 37-year-old Vasquez Bryant was pulled over on November 4 on Ross Clark Circle. During the stop, officers discovered 62 grams of blue pills that tested positive for fentanyl. Bryant was taken into custody.
Investigators then searched Bryant’s home on Woodland Drive, where they found approximately 700 grams of fentanyl pills valued at about $105,000, as well as 759 THC vape cartridges worth nearly $12,000 and about 465 pounds of marijuana with a street value of over $230,000.
Police also recovered drug paraphernalia and two firearms, including an AR-style rifle.
Bryant is charged with drug trafficking–fentanyl and drug trafficking–marijuana. Police said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
“I am very proud of the work of officers and investigators who put in countless hours working to make the City of Dothan a safer place,” Police Chief William Benny said in a statement. “The amount of fentanyl found was enough to kill the entire population of our city and then some. We will find you, we will arrest you, and we will advocate for the harshest prosecution allowed by law.”
