
TEXAS — A traffic stop in Nolan County led to the arrest of a Snyder man after deputies discovered a large quantity of drugs inside his vehicle, according to authorities.
The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office said the stop occurred Tuesday, March 24, along U.S. Highway 84 for a traffic violation. A second deputy responded to assist during the roadside investigation.
Authorities identified the driver as Raymond Ornelas Jr., who was taken into custody at the scene.
During the investigation, deputies reported finding more than three pounds of methamphetamine, along with a quantity of promethazine, inside the vehicle.
Ornelas was transported to the Nolan County Jail and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance over 400 grams, a felony offense.
Before clearing the scene, deputies also arranged for the care of Ornelas’ dog, which was taken into custody by the Sweetwater Animal Shelter.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and will be forwarded to the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office upon completion.
