PENNSYLVANIA — A Pittsburgh-area man is facing multiple charges after Pennsylvania State Police discovered approximately two pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop in Westmoreland County, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
The stop occurred on Feb. 3 on Interstate 76 in Donegal Township after a vehicle with excessive window tint passed a trooper who was accompanied by a K-9 unit. Police identified the driver as 35-year-old Ratique Wilson.
Authorities said Wilson denied consent for a search of the vehicle. A drug-detection K-9 was then deployed and alerted to the possible presence of narcotics. Troopers subsequently obtained a search warrant and conducted a search of the vehicle.
During the search, police located one kilogram, or approximately 2.2 pounds, of cocaine inside the vehicle, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Wilson was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on $150,000 bail. He faces drug-related charges as well as traffic violations. No additional details were released.
