FLORIDA — A woman was arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of fentanyl, methamphetamine and other illegal drugs in Lady Lake, according to local police.
The Lady Lake Police Department said the stop occurred March 23 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 27/441 and West Boone Court. Officers initiated the stop after observing that both the driver and a passenger were not wearing seat belts.
Police identified the driver as Samantha Elder.
During the stop, a K-9 officer conducted a search of the black SUV. Authorities said the search uncovered multiple controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and documents linking the items to Elder.
Elder was taken into custody and charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
