One person arrested following drug bust in Virginia

VIRGINIA — A man was arrested Friday following a traffic stop on Sam Snead Highway that led to the seizure of illegal drugs, according to the Bath County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Leroy Meadows, which resulted in the discovery of 12.4 grams of methamphetamine and 2.96 ounces of marijuana. Following the investigation, Meadows was taken into custody.

According to the sheriff’s office, Meadows was charged with driving under the influence, second offense within five to 10 years; possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance; and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. Deputies also issued Meadows a summons for possession of marijuana greater than one ounce and for a defective exhaust.

Meadows was transported to the Alleghany County Regional Jail. Additional details about the traffic stop were not immediately released.
