TEXAS — A man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies uncovered a large quantity of methamphetamine and an extensive collection of firearms following a chase and crash on the city’s West Side, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began on Dec. 12, 2025, when deputies were executing a drug-related search warrant near Cagnon Road and Highway 90. During the operation, deputies attempted to stop a truck driven by Mikal Mireles.
Authorities said Mireles refused to stop and led deputies on a pursuit that ended at the intersection of State Highway 151 and Hunt Lane, where the truck crashed into another vehicle.
After the crash, Mireles ran from the scene but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. Deputies said approximately eight ounces of methamphetamine were found inside the truck.
Later that day, a search of Mireles’ home led to the discovery of an additional 32 ounces of methamphetamine, bringing the total seized to about 40 ounces.
Deputies also recovered 17 firearms from the home, including four reported stolen. Authorities said several of the weapons were untraceable “ghost guns,” along with illegal gun modifications, a rifle suppressor, digital scales and drug packaging materials.
Mireles was booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of evading arrest with a vehicle and manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance weighing more than 200 grams. Additional firearm-related charges are expected.
