One person arrested following drug bust in Texas

TEXAS — A traffic stop in Tom Green County resulted in the arrest of an Arkansas man on multiple drug and weapons charges, according to authorities.

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office said deputies conducted a traffic stop on April 6 in the 11700 block of North U.S. Highway 87. During the stop, a deputy developed probable cause to search the vehicle.

Authorities identified the driver as 35-year-old Edgar Madrigal.

According to investigators, Madrigal was found in possession of more than 40 grams of methamphetamine, narcotics packaging materials, more than an ounce of marijuana, two pistols and a rifle.

Madrigal was arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1-B, between 4 grams and 200 grams; unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon; and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces.

The case remains under investigation.
