TEXAS — A man was arrested following a police pursuit Tuesday night in Austin that ended with the seizure of narcotics and multiple firearms, according to the Austin Police Department.

Authorities said members of the department’s North Metro Tactical Unit attempted to stop a vehicle around 8:03 p.m. in the 8200 block of Jamestown Drive after observing multiple traffic violations.

Police said the driver fled, prompting officers to coordinate with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Troopers were able to intercept and stop the vehicle on U.S. Highway 183.

The driver was identified as 37-year-old Daniel Woods.

Officials said Woods faces multiple charges, including two first-degree felony counts of manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine and fentanyl, evading arrest in a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and theft of a firearm. Additional charges are pending.

No injuries were reported.

The case remains under investigation.
