TENNESSEE — A Hampton man is facing multiple drug and firearm charges following a narcotics investigation conducted by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a news release, investigators used the Flock Camera network to locate a vehicle connected to the investigation. On Tuesday, investigators obtained search warrants for the vehicle and residence of William Jacob Miller, 42.
Authorities said Miller was found inside his vehicle, which was parked in a local parking lot. During the search of the vehicle, investigators reported finding multiple suspected controlled substances, including fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with digital scales, ammunition, and two loaded firearms. One of the firearms, a Model DM-22 Derringer pistol, was reportedly found in Miller’s jacket pocket, while a loaded Glock 22 .40-caliber pistol was located between the driver’s seat and center console.
After the vehicle search, investigators executed a search warrant at Miller’s residence. Deputies reported finding five additional firearms, suspected methamphetamine, a glass vial labeled “dabs,” 10 mason jars containing a leafy substance identified as marijuana, as well as scales, ammunition, and additional drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, Miller was charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of Schedule I drugs for resale, possession of Schedule VI drugs for resale, two counts of maintaining a dwelling, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, seven counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while in possession of methamphetamine.
Miller was transported to the Carter County Detention Center, where his bond was set at $25,000.
