SOUTH CAROLINA — An 18-year-old Georgetown man was arrested early Thursday morning after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs, a firearm, and suspected distribution materials, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
Justin Michael Sessions, 18, was taken into custody and placed on a warrant hold for possession with intent to distribute Schedule I-III controlled substances and possession of MDMA.
Deputies said the incident occurred around 3 a.m. when a vehicle with illegal window tint was observed driving in an evasive manner near Highmarket and Reservoir Street. A traffic stop was conducted, and upon approaching the vehicle, a deputy reported smelling marijuana and seeing a blunt in the ashtray.
During a search, authorities said Sessions was found to be concealing a Glock handgun in his underwear. Deputies also reported recovering approximately a half pound of suspected marijuana, a small amount of suspected ecstasy, packaging materials, and a scale.
Sessions remains in custody as the investigation continues.
