One person arrested following drug bust in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — North Charleston Police have arrested a 45-year-old man on multiple gun and drug charges following a traffic stop Monday afternoon.

According to the North Charleston Police Department, officers pulled Bernard Dante Palmore over on Fain Street around 4:30 p.m. During the stop, officers said Palmore opened his glovebox to retrieve paperwork and a firearm was visible inside.

Police determined that Palmore, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Officers also learned that his driver’s license was suspended.

Palmore was taken into custody and transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center. While being processed at the jail, officers said drugs were found hidden in his clothing.

Palmore is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, possession of cocaine and contraband in jail.

He remains in custody as the case moves forward.
