SOUTH CAROLINA — A man from Atlanta was arrested Friday morning in Georgetown after police said they found tablets containing MDMA during a traffic stop.
Georgetown Police identified the suspect as 57-year-old Bernard Cessely McIntyre. He was charged with trafficking in MDMA or Ecstasy, involving 100 dosage units or more but less than 500 dosage units.
Officers stopped McIntyre around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Congdon Street and Highmarket Street. During the stop, police said they developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
“During the traffic stop, probable cause was developed to search the vehicle. As a result of the search, a black bag was located,” GPD said in a statement. “Contained within the bag, there were several plastic bags containing numerous colored tablets. The tablets were field tested and determined to be MDMA.”
McIntyre is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
