One person arrested following drug bust in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — A man was arrested Monday afternoon at a convenience store in Penn Hills after authorities said he was found with a firearm, suspected drugs and a large amount of cash.

According to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened just after 4 p.m. at a GetGo on Frankstown Road.

Officials identified the suspect as 34-year-old Fidell Eberhart of Aliquippa. He is facing multiple charges, including firearm and drug offenses, as well as resisting arrest.

Authorities said a detective assigned to a Drug Enforcement Administration task force, along with officers from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and the Allegheny County Police Department, encountered Eberhart inside the store.

Investigators said Eberhart appeared to have a handgun in the front pocket of his sweatshirt before entering a restroom. When he exited, detectives ordered him to place his hands behind his back.

Officials said Eberhart allegedly attempted to evade officers and reached for the weapon multiple times before being subdued and taken to the ground.

The firearm was identified as a Glock Model 22 with a round in the chamber and a fully loaded magazine, authorities said. During a search, investigators also recovered approximately $7,000 in cash and a bag containing 45 stamp bags of suspected narcotics.

Eberhart was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
