OHIO — A 41-year-old man was booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Tuesday after authorities executed a search warrant at a West Side residence, leading to a first-degree felony drug charge.

David Poyssick is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in municipal court on a charge of possession of cocaine.

He was taken into custody after members of the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force and city police searched a home on Hartford Avenue around 9 a.m.

According to reports, officers forced entry through the back door after receiving no response.

Poyssick was coming out of the basement as officers entered and was immediately detained.

In the basement, authorities discovered a digital scale, a bag of white powder suspected to be cocaine, and three bags of suspected crack cocaine.

During the search, officers also found a woman hiding inside a box in an upstairs room.

She was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant out of Trumbull County.
