OHIO — A routine traffic stop early Sunday morning led to the arrest of a 32-year-old Urbana woman on drug-related charges.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies pulled over a maroon Ford Focus driven by Brandy Simons after noticing a headlight was out.
During the stop, deputies observed Simons appearing nervous and showing possible signs of drug use.
She was unable to provide proof of insurance, and a records check revealed prior drug-related offenses.
When Simons refused to allow a vehicle search, a K9 unit was called to the scene.
K9 Tega alerted to the presence of drugs, prompting a search of the car. Deputies discovered a crack pipe and other drug paraphernalia inside.
Simons was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into the Logan County Jail.
