OHIO — A routine traffic stop resulted in a drug arrest on Friday afternoon in Darke County.
According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a 2005 Dodge Durango for a speed violation around 2:15 p.m. on April 11.
The stop occurred on State Route 49 near Hollansburg-Sampson Road.
While speaking with the vehicle’s occupants, deputies reported observing “criminal indicators.” K9 Oakley was brought in for a free air sniff and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of more than 25 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 1.5 grams of suspected cocaine.
Authorities also seized $730 in cash believed to be connected to drug activity.
A 45-year-old passenger from Greenville was arrested at the scene. He is currently being held at the Darke County Jail, awaiting arraignment in Darke County Court.
He faces two felony charges of drug possession—one a second-degree felony and the other a fifth-degree felony.
