OHIO — The Elyria Police Department has released new details in connection to a recent drug trafficking investigation that led to the arrest of a local man and the seizure of multiple firearms and illegal drugs.
According to a press release, the department’s narcotics unit executed two search warrants Thursday as part of the investigation involving 33-year-old Roderick Cross Jr.
At a residence on Garden Street, officers recovered a loaded short-barreled rifle, over six ounces of powdered fentanyl, 13 grams of suspected pressed fentanyl pills, and seven grams of crack cocaine.
A second search at a home in the 600 block of Middle Avenue—near Elyria High School—turned up a loaded handgun with an extended magazine.
Police say a woman found inside that home was taken into custody on an active warrant out of Westlake.
Cross Jr. now faces several felony charges, including:
He is currently being held without bond at the Lorain County Jail, awaiting his initial court appearance.
