One person arrested following drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A wanted felon was arrested over the weekend after Asheville police responded to community complaints of illegal drug activity.

According to the Asheville Police Department, officers were patrolling the 100 block of Atkinson Street on May 31 when they spotted a man carrying an AR pistol.

The man, later identified as Brandon Norrelle Miller, was taken into custody without incident.

During the arrest, police say Miller was found in possession of a firearm and illegal drugs. He now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver Schedule IV substances
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver within 1,000 feet of a school
  • Going armed to the terror of the public
  • Carrying a concealed gun
  • Second-degree trespass
  • Fleeing to elude arrest

Miller was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
