NORTH CAROLINA — A 20-year-old Statesville man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into suspicious activity at an apartment complex that led to the discovery of drugs, cash, and a modified firearm, according to the Statesville Police Department.
Justin Smith Davidson was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including possession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police began investigating after receiving a report of suspicious activity at the Mallard Creek Apartments on Simonton Road.
The department’s Crime Reduction Team (CRT) identified Davidson as the resident and obtained a search warrant based on probable cause developed during the investigation.
During the search, officers seized 181 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun modified with an aftermarket switch to make it fully automatic, digital scales, ammunition, cash, and other drug-related items.
Davidson was booked into the Iredell County Jail and is being held without bond, as he was already out on bond for previous charges. He is scheduled to appear in District Court on June 4 and June 10.
