NORTH CAROLINA — A man was arrested after deputies seized what they described as “significant quantities” of illegal drugs and firearms from a home in Iredell County.
According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, detectives executed a search warrant Saturday, Feb. 7, at a residence on Marlowe Woods Lane near Barry Oak Road in Statesville following multiple community complaints.
During the search, deputies said they found cocaine, mushrooms and marijuana, along with cash, multiple guns, ammunition and body armor. Photos released by the sheriff’s office appeared to show at least three rifle-style weapons and several handguns among the items seized.
Erik Luhrs was arrested in connection with the investigation. Authorities said he was denied bond and faces at least six felony charges.
Those charges include felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver Schedule I, II and VI controlled substances; felony manufacturing marijuana and mushrooms; felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances; and felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Sheriff Darren Campbell said the case highlights the importance of community involvement in reporting suspected criminal activity.
Records indicate Luhrs had 14 outstanding charges awaiting trial prior to his arrest.
The investigation remains ongoing.
