One person arrested following drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A 21-year-old woman is facing a series of serious drug charges following her arrest on Monday, Sept. 22, according to Jacksonville police.

Amber L. Cannon was taken into custody and charged with multiple felonies, including three counts of trafficking opium or heroin, three counts of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine, and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances. She also faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.

Arrest warrants state Cannon was in possession of 58.9 grams of opioids, 30.6 grams of crack cocaine, and 18.6 grams of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest.

Investigators also reported seizing plastic bags, a glass pipe, a straw, and a purple 9mm handgun.

The warrants further allege Cannon maintained a black four-door sedan for storing and selling controlled substances, including meth, crack cocaine, and fentanyl.

Cannon remains in the Onslow County Jail under a $360,000 secured bond. She appeared in court Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The investigation is ongoing.
