
NORTH CAROLINA — A 26-year-old New Bern man was arrested Thursday after a probation search uncovered drugs, cash, and a firearm, authorities said.
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety Probation and Parole, with assistance from the Craven County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau, conducted a search of a residence on Albacore Lane.
K-9 Tia was deployed during the search to locate illegal narcotics. Officials say they recovered more than 48 grams of methamphetamine, over 20 grams of opioids, marijuana, U.S. currency, and a firearm.
Antonio Kajuan Shockley was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including:
- Felony trafficking opioids by possession
- Felony trafficking methamphetamine by possession
- Two felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance
- Felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Shockley was on probation for previous felony drug charges and felon-in-possession of a firearm. He is currently being held in the Craven County Confinement Facility under a $985,000 secured bond.
