One person arrested following drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A New Bern man is facing multiple felony drug charges following a search warrant execution that led to the seizure of more than 150 grams of illegal drugs, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, April 19, the Craven County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the New Bern Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Tatum Drive.

The warrant was obtained following an investigation by the CCSO’s K-9 Unit and Special Investigations Bureau, which found probable cause of narcotics activity at the location.

During the search, authorities seized approximately 62 grams of methamphetamine, 122 grams of marijuana, a quantity of fentanyl, and various items associated with the sale and distribution of illegal drugs.

Patrick Kyle Joyce, 42, was arrested at the scene and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the use or sale of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joyce is being held without bond due to being out on bond for unrelated charges. He made his first court appearance on Monday, April 21.
