NORTH CAROLINA — A man is facing multiple felony charges following a large-scale drug bust that led to the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine, firearms, and cash, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 23, the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force, in coordination with the Danville Police Department, concluded a narcotics investigation involving the execution of several search warrants in both Greensboro and Danville.

As a result, investigators seized approximately 6,000 grams of fentanyl, 175 grams of cocaine, 23 firearms, five vehicles, and $222,681 in cash.

Chonece Coleman, 41, was arrested and charged with felony trafficking of fentanyl and felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver controlled substances.

According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), just two milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal, meaning one kilogram could potentially kill up to 500,000 people. Authorities estimate the amount of fentanyl seized in this case could have caused up to three million deaths.

The investigation remains ongoing.
