
NORTH CAROLINA — A routine traffic stop on Thursday night led Kinston Police to a major drug seizure and the arrest of a local man.
According to the Kinston Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle around 10:25 p.m. on Cunningham Road near Highway 11 North for motor vehicle violations.
During the stop, a K-9 unit was brought in and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 916 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $46,000.
The driver, identified as 40-year-old Milton Barcliff of Kinston, was arrested without incident and transported to the Lenoir County Detention Center. He is being held without bond due to a pretrial release for a prior charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Barcliff is facing several charges, including:
- Trafficking in Cocaine
- Manufacture of Cocaine
- Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine
- Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substance Distribution
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Driving While License Revoked
The investigation is ongoing.
