NORTH CAROLINA — A 25-year-old Kinston man is facing several drug charges after police executed a search warrant at a residence on Cleveland Drive, according to the Kinston Police Department.
Detectives with the Violent Crime Action Team (VCAT) conducted the search on Thursday, July 10, as part of an ongoing investigation into marijuana distribution involving Jhzaquez Mills.
The case was launched after officers received multiple drug complaints from concerned citizens.
During the search, detectives recovered nearly 204 grams of marijuana packaged in multiple baggies, a digital scale, and empty plastic bags commonly used for drug packaging. Officers also seized more than $12,000 in cash.
Mills was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver (PWISD) marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, PWISD within 1,000 feet of a child care center, felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
