MISSOURI — A traffic stop in Caulfield on Thursday led to the arrest of a man wanted on a felony warrant and the discovery of suspected methamphetamine.
According to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Kyle Hambelton conducted a traffic stop around 5:00 p.m. on April 17 at the Dollar General in Caulfield.
The driver, identified as Jason Wanagel, was found to have an active felony warrant out of Taney County.
K9 Deputy Malone arrived at the scene with his K9 partner, Spice. After a free air sniff around the vehicle, K9 Spice alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered two bags containing a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia.
Wanagel was transported to the Howell County Adult Detention Center, where he was booked on his warrant and additional local charges. He was later transferred into the custody of the Taney County Sheriff’s Office.
