MISSISSIPPI — A traffic stop in Richland led to the arrest of an Arkansas man after police said they found approximately $200,000 worth of illegal drugs in his vehicle.
According to investigators, an officer stopped a car on Highway 49 around midnight on April 2 for a traffic violation.
The driver was identified as Carl Dimino, 58, of Story, Arkansas.
Police said the officer detected the smell of marijuana during the stop.
Dimino reportedly admitted to having marijuana and handed the officer a joint.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a large stash of drugs, including 126 dosage units of ecstasy, more than three pounds of MDMA, five pounds of psilocybin, 12 vials of pure LSD liquid, a significant quantity of LSD squares, 198 grams of marijuana, and two sets of digital scales.
Authorities also noted that Dimino has a lengthy criminal history, with more than 20 arrests and 12 felony charges across seven states.
