MICHIGAN — A 35-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities uncovered drugs, weapons, and cash during a raid in Portage earlier this week.
On Wednesday, officers from the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, the Crime Reduction Team, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives searched a home on Newells Lane near Forest Drive.
The raid followed an investigation into suspected drug sales and illegal firearm possession.
During the search, investigators seized methamphetamine, materials linked to drug manufacturing and distribution, a large sum of cash believed to be drug proceeds, three handguns, two rifles, a shotgun, and two suppressors.
According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, one of the firearms had its serial number removed.
The suspect was arrested earlier that day on Lake Street near Mills Street and is currently being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
