MICHIGAN — A Bronson man is facing drug charges after deputies discovered methamphetamine during a warrant check this past weekend, authorities said.
Branch County Sheriff’s deputies went to 123 Franklin Street to check for an outstanding warrant for Jason Narlock. Officers found Narlock inside the residence and, through an open window, observed a meth pipe on a nearby table.
During the investigation, deputies contacted 63-year-old Brett Kubasiak, who initially denied knowledge of Narlock’s presence.
A search warrant was obtained, and deputies discovered a locked safe in Kubasiak’s bedroom containing a digital scale, approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, and personal items belonging to Kubasiak.
Narlock told investigators that Kubasiak regularly supplied him with drugs and conducted daily sales from the residence, estimating about ten transactions per day. Agents from the Southwestern Enforcement Team confirmed the quantity of methamphetamine was consistent with distribution.
Kubasiak was arrested and arraigned on charges of delivery or manufacturing of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house. He pled not guilty, and Judge Brent Weigle set his bond at $40,000, ordering random drug testing. Kubasiak is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing on October 23.
