MARYLAND — A 48-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Anne Arundel County after police say he was found in a stolen vehicle and in possession of stolen property and drugs.
According to authorities, officers in Glen Burnie were alerted by a license plate reader that a vehicle in the area had been reported stolen. Police located the vehicle and observed the suspect, identified as Jason Serio, exit the stolen car and enter a GMC Acadia.
Serio was taken into custody shortly afterward. During the arrest, authorities said they discovered stolen property from the GMC Acadia in Serio’s possession. The property was recovered and returned to its owner.
Police also reported finding approximately 19.83 grams of suspected fentanyl along with packaging materials inside the stolen vehicle.
Following the arrest, investigators determined that Serio had outstanding charges related to thefts earlier this month from Kohl’s and Nordstrom Rack.
Additional details regarding charges or bond information were not immediately released. The investigation remains ongoing.
