
LOUISIANA — A Boutte man was arrested Thursday, April 24, following a drug investigation by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, detectives were investigating a drug complaint in the 200 block of Good Children Street when they located 36-year-old Vacarrin Diggs near a truck.
Diggs, who was already wanted on drug-related charges, was taken into custody at the scene.
During the arrest, investigators said they obtained probable cause to search the truck.
Inside, they reportedly found a black Girsan 9mm semi-automatic handgun, 73.14 grams of marijuana, synthetic marijuana, 21.36 grams of methamphetamine, 4.60 grams of MDMA, 5.93 grams of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, Diggs faces several charges, including:
- Possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana (warrant)
- Possession with intent to distribute marijuana (warrant)
- Resisting an officer (warrant)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia (warrant)
- Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
- Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
- Possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine
- Possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana
- Possession with intent to distribute MDMA
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
Diggs also has outstanding fugitive warrants from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Gretna and Westwego police departments.
