KENTUCKY — Deputies arrested a man Monday night after he falsely claimed to have been hit by a vehicle, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian struck near Bleich and Old Mayfield Roads.

When they arrived, they found a man, identified as 49-year-old Anthony Kladis, lying in a ditch claiming he had been hit by a car.

However, after investigating the scene, deputies determined no collision had occurred. They said Kladis was impaired by narcotics and behaving erratically.

A search of Kladis revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Deputies also discovered two active warrants for his arrest.

Kladis was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication, and two failure to appear bench warrants.
