KENTUCKY — A Louisville man faces multiple charges following a narcotics investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his home Thursday evening.
Kevin Franklin, 55, was arrested at his Shawnee residence in the 3400 block of Del Terrace around 7:30 p.m., according to Louisville Metro Police (LMPD).
He is charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a handgun as a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, using restricted ammunition, and tampering with physical evidence.
Police said officers found 7.59 ounces of a substance believed to contain heroin and fentanyl inside a Louis Vuitton bag that also held Franklin’s mail and personal items. A .38-caliber revolver loaded with hollow-point ammunition was found nearby, with additional bullets hidden in the basement ceiling.
A “marijuana cigarette” was discovered under a bedroom television, and a kitchen blender and scale with powder residue — described by police as indicative of narcotics preparation for sale — were also recovered.
“This takedown removed dangerous drugs and a known felon from a quiet residential street – making the neighborhood safer and improving the quality of life for everyone nearby,” LMPD said in a social media post.
Franklin was arraigned Friday morning, and a judge set his bond at $15,000.
