KENTUCKY — A London woman was arrested Wednesday after police said she was trafficking methamphetamine.
Mary Caldwell, 57, was spotted in a business parking lot on E. 4th Street by officers with the London Police Department. Authorities noted that Caldwell had multiple outstanding warrants for her arrest.
When police approached Caldwell’s vehicle, a deputy K-9 was deployed to search it. Officers discovered two baggies containing a crystal-like substance, additional controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales. More baggies containing a crystal-like substance were found on Caldwell’s person.
Caldwell was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of prescription drugs not in a proper container, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also charged with two outstanding Madison County District Court warrants for theft, including shoplifting and unlawful taking or disposition of property valued between $500 and $1,000.
She was taken into custody and transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
