INDIANA — A South Bend man was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into suspected drug activity at a business on the city’s northwest side.
According to the South Bend Police Department, 47-year-old Scott Byrd was taken into custody and transported to the St. Joseph County Jail on preliminary charges related to drug and paraphernalia possession.
The arrest came after the department’s Strategic Focus Unit executed search warrants at a car wash and a related vehicle located on Lincolnway West.
During the search, officers recovered methamphetamine, THC edibles, hydrocodone, prescription antibiotic pills, and other drug paraphernalia.
Byrd is currently awaiting formal charges from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing.
