INDIANA — A traffic stop in Bedford on Thursday afternoon led to the arrest of a Vallonia man on multiple charges, including drug possession and driving with a suspended license.
According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Bedford Police Officers Jones and Bower were patrolling near 7th Street and Lincoln Avenue around 5:01 p.m. on April 24 when they spotted a red GMC truck.
After discovering that the registered owner was a woman but the driver was a man, officers identified the driver as 54-year-old William Carson.
Carson, whose license was suspended from a prior conviction, admitted he did not have a valid license.
Officers reported smelling marijuana coming from the truck.
During a search, they allegedly found marijuana and a bag with methamphetamine residue inside Carson’s boot, along with drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Carson was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. He faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended with a prior conviction.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
