ILLINOIS — A Williamson County woman was arrested early Tuesday after deputies found methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Herrin, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Oct. 8 when they observed a vehicle traveling north on 23rd Street and committing a traffic violation.

After stopping the vehicle, a K9 unit from the Herrin Police Department arrived and conducted a free air sniff. K9 “Tyr” alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle.

Deputies located a purse on the passenger-side floorboard containing methamphetamine. The passenger, identified as Crystal R. Pulliam, was taken into custody without incident. The driver, Bryan A. Pulliam, was cited for failure to signal and operating an uninsured vehicle and released at the scene.

At the Williamson County Jail, Crystal Pulliam admitted the methamphetamine was hers and informed officers she had another bag concealed in her clothing. A female correctional officer recovered the additional narcotics.

Pulliam was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Class 2 felony, and was remanded to the Williamson County Jail.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Herrin Police Department and State’s Attorney Ted Hampson for their assistance. Anyone with information about this or other investigations is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 618-997-6541 or “Submit a Tip” through the Williamson County Sheriff’s App.
