ILLINOIS — A 21-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including drug trafficking, after reportedly ramming a Rockford police squad car during an attempted traffic stop late Thursday night.
According to the Rockford Police Department, officers with the Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) team attempted to stop Braden Hogan around 11:20 p.m. in the 3400 block of Blackstone Avenue.
Hogan was wanted in connection to a previous incident where he fled from officers.
Instead of pulling over, police say Hogan rammed a squad car in an effort to escape. He was taken into custody and booked into the Winnebago County Jail.
During the investigation, officers recovered over seven grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and cash.
Hogan is facing several charges, including aggravated fleeing, criminal damage to state property, resisting arrest, driving on a revoked license, and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
