ILLINOIS — A deputy in Saline County arrested a wanted fugitive from Washington state early Thursday following a coordinated effort involving local and federal authorities.
According to officials, Saline County Deputy Brayden Johnson received information in the early morning hours of April 2 that a wanted individual was in the area. Authorities said the suspect, identified as John D. Wurdemann of Tonasket, Washington, was located in a rural area east of Harrisburg.
The Harrisburg Police Department assisted in taking Wurdemann into custody without incident.
Authorities reported that Wurdemann was found in possession of approximately a quarter pound of methamphetamine, several pounds of marijuana and multiple illegal firearms at the time of his arrest.
FBI Task Force Officer Shannon Deuel is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Officials said a federal indictment is expected early next week.
Wurdemann remains in custody as the investigation continues.
