GEORGIA — A 64-year-old man was arrested Friday morning in Sandersville following a search that uncovered drugs and a firearm, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified the suspect as Ellis Hicks, of Sandersville.
Officials said deputies, along with the Middle Georgia Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence on West Elder Street within the city limits.
During the search, investigators reported recovering a handgun, as well as quantities of marijuana and crack cocaine.
Hicks was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and a probation violation.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
