GEORGIA — A Stonecrest man is facing multiple charges following a months-long drug investigation, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators conducted an extensive undercover operation that included controlled drug purchases throughout the county. As a result, authorities obtained multiple arrest warrants for Justin Lamont Driskell of Stonecrest.

Driskell was taken into custody during a traffic stop conducted by the Georgia State Patrol, officials said.

During the course of the investigation, deputies also secured search warrants for three locations connected to Driskell at the Wesley Providence Apartment complex in Stonecrest. The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the DeKalb County Police Department’s SWAT team and aviation unit to help secure the area while the warrants were executed.

Driskell is currently being held in the Rockdale County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including four counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

Authorities said a man and a woman found inside one of the apartments during the search were briefly detained but later determined not to be involved in the investigation and were released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
