
GEORGIA — The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on multiple drug trafficking charges following a narcotics investigation, according to a social media post from the agency.
Sheriff’s officials said narcotics detectives seized approximately 485 grams of methamphetamine and 5.6 grams of fentanyl during the operation.
The suspect, Eric Underwood, is facing several charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and sale of a Schedule I or II controlled substance.
Darren Pierce, sheriff of Whitfield County, thanked investigators for their work and also acknowledged assistance from the Dalton Police Department.
“This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by our narcotics investigators to combat illegal drug activity and protect the safety and well-being of Whitfield County residents,” Pierce said. “The removal of narcotics, especially substances such as methamphetamine and fentanyl, from our streets is critical in preventing overdoses, addiction, and related crime.”
