GEORGIA — A man was arrested in Jones County after deputies discovered illegal narcotics and firearms during a traffic stop, according to authorities.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office said a patrol sergeant was traveling along Highway 49 when a Ford F-150’s license plate was run and found to have a suspended registration. A traffic stop was then conducted.

During the stop, the driver, identified as 23-year-old Emmanuel Andrade, told the sergeant he did not have a driver’s license and that there was a gun inside the truck. Deputies said Andrade was detained and also admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle.

After searching the truck, deputies reported finding a bag of fentanyl, a bottle of MDMA pills, a jar of marijuana, two firearms, and drug paraphernalia, including smoking pipes and a digital scale. Investigators said the quantity and items found indicate the drugs were not for personal use.

Andrade was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute. His vehicle and all seized contraband were taken to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office as part of the investigation.
