GEORGIA — A narcotics investigation conducted by the Valdosta Police Department resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms, drugs, and suspected drug-sale paraphernalia, authorities said.

According to police, members of the department’s K-9 Unit and Narcotics Division were investigating a complaint on January 15, 2026, at a residence in the 600 block of North Troup Street. During the investigation, officers discovered that 26-year-old Roy Edward Williams Jr. had an active arrest warrant unrelated to the narcotics case. Williams was taken into custody without incident.

While inside the residence, detectives located two handguns and a rifle, along with a quantity of marijuana that police said was packaged for sale. Investigators also recovered tools and items indicative of narcotics distribution. Police said one of the handguns found at the scene had previously been reported stolen.

Williams was transported to the Lowndes County Jail. In addition to the existing arrest warrant, he now faces several new charges, including felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects.

The investigation remains ongoing.
