
GEORGIA — A traffic stop for a seatbelt violation on Sunday led to the seizure of illegal drugs and multiple charges, according to authorities.
Officials said the stop occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Jan. 4, 2026, after officers observed a seatbelt violation and noticed suspicious behavior from the driver. During the subsequent investigation, officers recovered more than 11 ounces of marijuana, along with cocaine, ecstasy, digital scales and plastic baggies.
The driver was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and possession of ecstasy.
Authorities said the seizure is part of ongoing efforts to remove illegal drugs from the streets and protect the community. No additional details about the incident or the suspect have been released at this time.
